Revealed June 30, 2026, the 2027 BMW iX5 is the first all-electric X5 and BMW's second Neue Klasse EV for the US after the iX3. The launch trim is the iX5 60 xDrive starting at $81,250 (incl. destination) with dual-motor AWD, 578 hp, 593 lb-ft, and a 144 kWh usable battery — the largest ever fitted to a BMW EV. BMW estimates 435 miles of range (EPA not yet certified), with 460 kW DC fast charging delivering 10-80% in roughly 22 minutes on the 800V architecture. Built alongside the gas X5 at BMW's Spartanburg, South Carolina plant using locally-sourced batteries. US on-sale is scheduled for Q1 2027 (gas X5 launches November 2026 first).
