Expected Release: Production starts 2028 (per Elon Musk at the Oct 2026 reveal)
Reservation Cost: $50,000
Tesla revealed the next-generation Roadster on Oct 15, 2026 at SpaceX's McGregor test facility in Texas, with cold-gas thrusters and a live kickflip demo. Three configurations were confirmed: Performance (2-seat, active aerodynamics plus a suction downforce system), Thrust (rear-mounted cold-gas thrusters), and the invitation-only single-seat Rocket with a full flight system (not approved for public road use). Tesla claims 0-60 mph in under 1.6 / 0.9 / 0.59 seconds across the three trims, over 300 miles of range on all versions, and a top speed above 230 mph for the Rocket; Musk says production starts in 2028. Final pricing has not been announced: US reservations are $50,000 for Performance and $250,000 for Thrust (both fully refundable). Note: acceleration, range, and top-speed figures are Tesla claims from the reveal event, not independently verified; battery size, power, drivetrain, and dimensions were not disclosed.
