Expected Release: Late 2027
Revealed October 9, 2026, the ID. Tiguan replaces the ID.4 and ID.5 as Volkswagen's core electric SUV and is confirmed to succeed the ID.4 in North America (VW of America has not announced US timing, pricing, or a plant). Built on the MEB+ platform, it answers the ID.4's biggest criticism with physical buttons for climate and volume, a rotary volume knob, and a 15-inch center screen with a 10-inch cluster. It launches in Europe in early 2027 from €42,695 in Germany. Two batteries: a 58 kWh LFP (188 hp RWD, 280-mi WLTP forecast, 105 kW DC) and a 77 kWh NMC (282 hp RWD or 295 hp 4MOTION, up to 373-mi WLTP forecast, 165 kW DC). MotorTrend estimates ~$47,000 and ~320 miles of EPA range with US sales in late 2027; Volkswagen has published no US figures.
